Zoom recordings and their expiration completely depends upon the account settings, whether the file is saved locally or to the cloud, and the type of Zoom plan you have. We’re not going to beat around the bush about it. There’s nothing more frustrating than wanting to revisit the recording of an important meeting only to realise it doesn’t exist anymore! We’ll explain how to ensure your Zoom recordings remain accessible for as long as you need them. To capture calls, share presentations or revisit tutorials, the Zoom ‘record’ feature is a handy tool – but do Zoom recordings expire? And if so, how much time have you got with your precious recordings before they slip into the abyss? WTF - why does a video chat app need to be 300MB? Then to use Webex as say a member of a course, you have to create an account, which Zoom doesn't require (unless the host requires it).Just about everybody is using Zoom these days. They seemed very eager to hear such feedback, because I think they were scratching their heads as to why Zoom was kicking their butts so hard?! For starters, Webex required a 300+MB manual download (for PC), versus Zoom is a 19MB download, that will download and install automatically. They started asking me for feedback on how they could make their app/platform better. And yet they made the interface and setup stupid simple so that it made it easy for 80-year olds to keep attending their yoga classes over Zoom.Ī funny story was when I contacted Webex about an issue I was having with their platform. It was shocking how advanced Zoom was, on all levels, compared to the other platforms. I've used Meets a few times and while it went well, it wasn't intuitive to change the camera or microphone setting, but it's been months since i used it, so perhaps they improved that.īack when the pandemic took off (and so did Zoom), I tested out several different platforms (Webex, Lifesize, Meets) and compared them to Zoom. Like I said, every platform has it's shining moments. me Apple email address on their ipad, but where then are they going to find Meets? My use case is most of my customers are over 60 and many over 70 or even 80. And AFAIK, Meets is only native to Google Workspace, not regular consumer Gmail. All platforms have some way in which they outperform others.įor Meets, it's "less setup" only if you're already using Google services, like Gmail.
